Justice delayed in the canton of Vaud

Rolf P. Steinegger

In its judgement from 12.12.2013, a tribunal of the canton of Vaud upheld an appeal regarding a delay of justice complaint, lodged by Steinegger Rechtsanwälte in respect of an international family law case. The court of first instance was instructed to pass judgement within four workdays. In mid-May, the court made a provisional ruling, ordering the father to pay 25’000 Euros per month towards the maintenance of both of his children (applicable law: German law). Since then he has refrained from amending this evidently untenable provisional injunction. The first delay of justice complaint was dismissed at the end of July by the Tribunal cantonal vaudois. After more than seven months of pending legal review, the court of first instance reduced the maintenance contributions to 10’000 Euros.
